Hot/cold aisle

The hot/cold aisle system is considered as a standard arrangement of data centers.

The cabinets are oriented face to face, with cold air being fed through perforated parts in the raised double floor.

The ANSI/TIA/EIA-942-A standard recommends a cold aisle width of 1.2 meters, which is the equivalent of two tiles of a double floor.

Hot/cold aisle

Cold air is distributed through perforated tiles in front of each cabinet and drawn into the cabinets by airflow technology.

The cabinets are positioned face to face and the cold air is supplied to the active elements through their 86% perforated tension metal doors.

Since the double floor is used to supply cold air, it is essential that all other openings in the floor, such as cable entries, are covered with double brush grommets (DP-KP-KAR-A). This helps to maintain the static pressure in the double floor and minimizes possible leaks in undesirable locations.

Recommended hot/cold aisle configurations

Parameter Value
Recommended configurations

The front tension metal door ensures excellent cold air inflow into the cabinet, while the rear tension metal door allows heated air to flow out of the cabinet; we recommend using accessories for proper air flow control inside the cabinet - a separation frame and blanking panels.

Front tension metal door (perforation rate 86%) with a multi-point lock and a universal key

Back tension metal door (perforation rate 86%) with a multi-point lock and a universal key

Removable side panels with a lock and a universal key

Two pairs of 19" vertical sliding rails

Upper and lower cable entries, removable top cover

Height-adjustable feet, optional pedestals or pedestals with filter

Alternative

In setups where cabinets cannot be used for any reason, we offer an alternative - RSG4 19" open frame. Its load capacity of up to 1,500 kg makes it suitable for the installation of heavy servers, disk arrays, etc. The frames are also ideal for use in testing labs and service centers.

Recommended cooling systems

Recommended cooling solutions for cold aisle containments require central cooling systems or the installation of lateral cooling units. We have been an official partner of a leading global manufacturer of cooling solutions since 2008. This partnership enables us to offer sophisticated central cooling systems. Do not hesitate to contact us! We will be happy to assist you, whether your project requires a simple cooling method or a large central cooling capacity.
